SALI hosted our 2nd Dog Wash of the summer at Clayton Critter Pet Store.  We washed 60 dogs in 4 hours = one dog per 4 mins.  Once the dogs were in the tub they definitely appreciated the wash on the hottest day of the summer!  Just around the corner Carol Anne's Cafe donated partial food sales on the dog wash day.  Mika guessed the closet number ot how many dog biscuits were in the jar and won a Kids Prize Pack.  For those who joined us, we hope you had as much fun as we did and you helped us raise $1200.   All proceeds go towards building the barn at SALI's Farm

Sunday, June 20

SALI sponsored the Doggy Days at White Farmers Market and we hosted our 2nd annual Dog Wash. Lots of dogs chose the spa package and some of their lucky people won the fabulous raffle prizes. Alice guessed the closest number to how many dog biscuits were in the jar and won a Kids Prize Pack.  We hope you had as much fun as we did and you helped us raise $1300.  All proceeds from the Dog Wash go towards building a barn at SALI's Farm.

Wear Red, Dress your dog in Red (anything goes)

The Olympics have gone to the dogs!

SALI partnered with Friends of Dogwood to show some Olympic Spirit. It was kept very low key because we didn't purchase liability insurance.  Sorry if you missed it but we will have another fun day soon

it's when times are tough
that we need our pets the most

Sometimes, all that is needed to keep a pet at home where they belong is a little food and a little help.  That's why SALI created the Companion Guardianship Program.

a little help can go a long way

The Companion Guardianship Program is a needs-based program that provides pet food and basic pet care items to seniors and others who need a little extra help due to mobility, health, or income issues.  In partnership with Meals on Wheels, SALI volunteers prepare monthly pet food and supply care packages to those in need

WHO CAN USE THE GUARDIAN PROGRAM?

Participants may be enrolled in the program based on financial need, mobility challenges, or health circumstances.  Participants may apply directly to SALI or may be referred by Meals on Wheels.

GARDENERS HELP OUT THE CHILDREN'S GARDEN AT SALI'S FARM

SALI was given an opportunity to sell Fall bulbs through a fundraising cateloque.  We had two weeks to get the order in.  So we just canvassed friends and family and were able to raise $300.  The bulb company gave us two free packages of bulbs.  One package was given to Loretta for selling the most bulbs and the other package to Rene for helping out with our garage sale.

Thanks everyone.  The money will go towards SALI's Farm and will help pay for garden needs for hotricultural therapy.
